My kids LOVE to draw. So for Christmas my mother gave them a uDraw game tablet for the Wii. They spent several weeks doodling, scribbling, and sketching various masterpieces but like most things, they grew tired of it and the tablet soon became buried behind a pile of other games.
Then a few weeks ago, we were given the opportunity to try out the new Spongebob Squigglepants game for uDraw and the tablet is back out in full swing. This game combines three of my kids favorite things drawing, video games, and Spongebob.
The game is hosted by Patchy, the zany pirate and players move through a series of fast paced "nanogames." There are over 100 challenges that last no more than 5 seconds each and require fast reaction times. My kids found this to be a little frustrating at first, but soon figured out how to beat the clock. Once 20 challenges are completed, a new series of puzzles is unlocked.
The game uses the uDraw technology, where players flick, tap, tilt, draw, and press their way through the various challenges in Bikini Bottom. In addition to the nanogames, players can create, color and save their work to an SD card for easy sharing and printing.
Overall, this is an entertaining game with multiple facets. The frenzied pace can be a little overwhelming at first, but with practice and patience the nautical nuttiness is easy to beat.
