If you're wondering what you're going to do with all those visitors this holiday season or what to purchase for your family this year - look no further. Your best bet is to get tickets to see The Lion King at the San Francisco Orpheum Theater.
Back by popular demand, The Lion King will only be here for a few short months. Opening weekend was November 1, 2012 and it will run until January 13, 2013. Be sure to book your tickets for this auditory and visual feast for the soul.
The genius behind this visually stunning spectacle is award winning director Julie Taymor. She is able to embody the essence of the animals, landscape and flora of the African Pridelands with incredibly creative costumes and a sparse but effective series of stage props. Her inventiveness and creativeness makes this an unforgettable experience. Even though the story takes place in the hot African Pridelands you will feel chills throughout the show from the musical score by Elton John and Tim Rice. Rafiki, Nala and Simba in particular had stellar performances, their voices so pure and moving.
I was fortunate to meet the two actors who played adult Nala and Simba (Syndee Winters and Jelani Remy) who signed autographs and chatted about their families who were still going through some of the aftermath of hurricane Sandy. I want to give them both a big SHOUT OUT for patiently posing for photos and signing our memorabilia. THANK YOU!
Is this suitable for kids? In front of us was a 5 year old little girl who sat through the entire performance and seemed captivated. There were children of all ages in the theater and we saw big smiles on every face. In a word - The Lion King is PHENOMENAL. So don't wait - order your tickets now. It's a memorable experience your entire family will love.

Full disclosure: I was provided with 4 complimentary tickets to enjoy the show. ALL opinions are 100% my own, I LOVED THE SHOW! Go see it!
