These days nearly everyone has a camera. That's because more people than ever have a mobile phone that also has a camera. The cameras in these mobile phone are surpassing some of the basic point-and-shoot cameras so we are now able to capture incredible videos and still photos.
In addition many folks also have wonderful DSLR camera that have the capability to take amazing video. Many filmmakers are now using DSLRs such as the Canon 5D Mark iii to make amazing movies. Kenneth's original "Photojournalism" book has been the academic standard for the last 30 years. His new textbook is sure to reach the same status in the growing field of videojournalism. The title is based on extensive interviews with some of the top practitioners in the field.
Kobré realized the changing nature of journalism. Kobré explains, "Newspapers, magazines, blogs and TV stations are posting more short videos on their Websites -- thanks to the availability and low cost of video equipment and relative ease of shooting and editing -- but, with rare exceptions, the quality of those video stories is subpar."
Youtube is also making video and filmmaking pervasive.
