On Sunday, we were invited to the Silicon Valley Moms Groups' Holiday Party. It was a fantastic event held at the Garden Court Hotel in Palo Alto. The event was an opportunity to meet fellow Silicon Valley Mom bloggers as well as 20 sponsoring companies.
Although my sons had their last soccer game that day (I had been to 8 games that weekend already, so I didn't feel too guilty), I headed up to Palo Alto with my blogging partner to what promised to be a fun event full of swag. And the founders of SVMoms, delivered on that promise. It was a terrific event and we left with bags brimming with goodies.
We had such a great time--enjoying delicous food, good company (it was so nice to put faces with blogger names) and wonderful product demonstrations and samples. Each of the companies passed out samples of their products (photo cards from HP, stylish ecofriendly grocery bags from Olive Smart , Coffee-mate samples, games from Nintendo, card samples from Tiny Prints, and adorable clothing from Wati--just to name a few), or discount coupons. I felt like I was on an episode of Oprah's Favorite things show . The picture above is of us learning how to play Nintendo's Professor Layton and the Diabolical Box.
I was amazed by the quality and quantity of sponsors (the SVMom founders pulled this event together in just one month) and I was more impressed by the women I met. Some have been blogging for years and have been contributors since the inception of SVMoms and others were new to the blogging world. No matter how long they had been putting fingers to keys, they all had one thing in common, a love for writing and for sharing their knowledge and experiences. It felt great to be a part of this group.
We've just posted a new article on our sister product review site, GoToGals:
Oh and by the way, my boys won their last game and got first place in their bracket at the tournament.
