Shopping Tips and Strategies From A Savvy Shopper

Today we have a guest post from our very good friend and deal finder, Suzanne.  She is the "Go to Gal" when you want to find the best price on anything from a Nintendo DS to a pair of Keen shoes.  Below she shares some tips and tricks to help you get the best price on your next must have item. There are certain tricks every bargain shopper should use and the main one is to use the internet.   Sure you could clip coupons, shop holiday sales and scour the Sunday flyers, but if you really want to find the best deals, you have a
here should you begin?

Well, every morning, while sipping my cup of coffee, I check 4 sites just to see what kind of goodies are out there waiting for me:
  • Amazon for their deal of the day (did you know they had a deal of the day?)
  • Slickdeals.net-  This has become a new favorite because they recently added a feature where you can click your city and see all of the various deal of the day site feeds.  Now I can go to just this one site and see what bargains await me in the San Jose area.
When I'm looking for something specific,  I usually find the best deals by doing a Google Shopping or Nextag search.  eBay might be the site that comes to mind but I generally find better deals with these two.

And lastly, I never place an order without searching for a coupon code. My favorites are Retailmenot or Coupon Cabin but there are plenty of others to choose--just take a few minutes to do a quick search using search strings like "coupon code for xyz."

While my shopping skills may be fined tuned, the one skill I haven't mastered is turning a good deal down.  If you don't need it don't buy it.  Or so I've been told.

great friend in the internet.  W
