Summer Fun--Free Bay Area Summer Concerts

Summer is here and one of our favorite things to do is to enjoy free concerts at our local parks.  If you live in the Bay Area and are wanting to tap your toes to great music then check out the variety of concerts available this summer throughout the Bay Area.


Los Gatos:  

Jazz on the Plazz. Wednesday nights from 6:30-8:30 from June 20-August 29.  www.jazzontheplazz.com
Palo Alto:
Stanford Shopping Center summer concert series. 6 p.m. Thursdays, June 3-Aug. 5. In the Clock Tower, 680 Stanford Shopping Center, Palo Alto. 650-617-8200.  www.stanfordshop.com.
San Francisco:
Golden Gate Park has public concerts on Sunday afternoons from April 25-through October.  Here you'll find a variety of different styles of music from opera to Broadway show tunes.
Stern Grove Series is celebrating their 75th season this year.  It is a great way to enjoy a picnic, music and art.  The festival combines beauty, nature and the arts.  Concerts take place Sundays June 24-August 19.   www.sterngrove.org.
Redwood City:
Music in the Park takes place every Wednesday evening from 6-8 pm.  June 23-August 11.  
San Jose:
Pop, rock, and folk music can be heard Thursdays June 3-August 26 at Plaza de Chavez Park (Market and Park Ave).  www.sjdowntown.com/music_in_the_park.html.
Danville:
Saturday nights are a great night to enjoy summer music.  Check out Oak Hill park from 6-8 pm.  July-August.
