Are You Scrambling for A Valentine's Day Gift?--Last Minute Ideas

O.k., I know there are some of you out there who may scoff at the fact that some of us less than organized folks have not yet purchased a gift for our loved ones this Valentine's Day. But hey, we've been busy and a few things have been put on the back burner.  I mean, there are still Christmas lights that need to come down off of our front bushes and a wreath on our porch that need to go in the compost bin.

But I digress....

Even though today is Valentine's Day, you don't need to run to your local Safeway and buy a gift card to show the one you love how much you care.  You can still do something special that will make it seem as though you really are thoughtful........ (note to my husband:  Spoiler Alert--do not read any further).

For instance:

A candlelight dinner--if ABC chickens are your food of choice during the week (not that there is anything wrong with that), kick it up a notch and try out one of these delicious dinners.  If these sound like too much work there is always take-out.  And BTW, this is Great Schools Week  and you can enjoy a very nice Valentine's Day dinner and support the Cupertino Schools by dining at any of the restaurants listed here.  Just be sure to print your Golden Ticket!

Make a love box--o.k. before you start rolling your eyes or letting your mind wander into the gutter, this is a box full of memories.   Collect photos from your wedding, honeymoon, and pics of the kids along with concert ticket stubs, dried flowers from bouquets of days gone by and put them all in a decorative box.  You and your sweetie can then sift through all of these goodies and wander down lovers memory lane.

Put a note under his/her pillow---Before going to sleep for the night, put a little love note under your honey's pillow.  Simple but sweet.

So there you go....three easy to implement ideas that will help you express your love and appreciation for the one who makes your heart pitter patter.
